2015 Nissan Rogue test review in Tacoma

2015 Nissan Rogue test review in Tacoma

My 2015 Nissan Rogue was a Winner

I had so far 3 Nissan models calling my own. Not a SUV like the 2015 Nissan Rogue, which I have taken out here for a week-long test-drive and SUV review around Tacoma, Washington but foremost the grandfather’s of today’s Nissan 370Z – two 1985 and one 1986 Nissan 300ZX with T-Tops – oh what do I miss those girls. However since I am cruising through the streets of U.S.A. I’ve indeed driven a lot of cars. Once for a while you come across a model which make you think twice and you are finding yourself contemplating if you should trade-in your current ride and swap it for the Make you just test-drove. In this case I just experienced this kind of “urge” – the need to say “Auf Wiedersehen” (“Good Bye”) to my beloved Acura and say “Hallo” and “Welcome” to my family…Nissan Rogue.

With the Nissan Rogue, the Japanese manufacturer has build a “Winner”, (at least in my books of daily driver wisdom)! Starting with an impeccable design with pairing sophistication, luxurious elegance and sportive aggressiveness, the Rogue is a “Hingucker”, which translates into English as “it will turn heads”. Starting with a brilliant paint job, great finish in-and-out this small SUV is promising that the upcoming test-drives over the next few days will be fun. And I am up for fun. Up we go into the Sunset around Auburn and Puyallup with this Nissan SUV…

My friends at Tacoma Nissan in Tacoma, WA set me up with a nice, well equipped 2015 Nissan Rogue SL AWD. Next to the comfort amenities such as leather seating, heated seats and climate control, Navigation, XM Radio. For friends of parallel parking, which is indeed not seldom endeavor in the cities of the Pacific Northwest, the so called Around View Monitor is doing its job brilliantly. By selecting the “R” in the automatic transmission, the 7″ color touchscreen monitor changes into a split screen – assisting the driver not only with view of a back-up camera mounted at the rear of this SUV, but also gives a 360 degree round view of the area the car is standing (see picture). Me as new daddy (once again) of a new baby/toddler is appreciating giving me the peace of mind to make sure the little one is nowhere close to the car when I maneuver it. How good this works in a real-world scenario you’ll see in my included video.

Definitely VJ Approved:

Got a kids birthday coming up and you volunteered to be one of the designated drivers to bring the little monsters to their Chucky Cheese’s birthday “brawl”?  Then you will like the room in the Rogue. With rear leg and and rear shoulder room expansion of more than 2.5″ you are not just having enough room for three passengers on the rear seats, 3rd row seating for the 2015 Nissan Rogue equipped with Family Packagebut it also allows you to get two more additional backseat drivers inside the car, finding their positions in the 3-rd row. Needless to say that all 3 rows of seating are protecting the occupants with side-curtain airbags as well as front seat-mounted torso airbags. Long story short – the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) crowned the 2015 Rogue with it’s 2015 Top Safety Pick.

When 3rd-row seating is not any longer in need, fold those seats down and enjoy an almost flat cargo space area of “huge as the universe” 70 cubic feet. For all weekend home improvement warriors out there, you will just love to take the Rogue out to the Lowe’s or Home Depot Weekend Clearance Sale.

So that is it! Another car review and video test drive concluded with a huge “Thank You to  Tacoma Nissan in Tacoma, WA-98409 serving Puyallup and Auburn Nissan customers as well”.  Watch the video to find out what car I will drive next. Hint……it will be a European Beauty.

All in all – I will give my driving companion for the last few days “4 VJ Approved” out of five and being in the “I Love/Like It” category.

The 2015 Nissan Rogue got a 4-star rating and is VJ approved
