Chrysler’s Minivan will get a new name tag – Chrysler Pacifica
We all know that Chrysler is known for the fair share of Minivan Owners, the Chrysler Town & Country, the new designed Chrysler 300 and the 200, framed by the slogan “Imported from Detroit”. In the early 2000’s there was one more segment carrying the Chrysler badge. It was called the Chrysler Pacifica. It was considered to be a crossover with capabilities of carrying a family of 7 with 3 rows of seating.
Now good 15 years later the Pacifica is back
At the NAIAS 2016 in Detroit, Chrysler announced the name is back and will be called the 2017 Pacifica. Next to regular gas engines, Chrysler is planning to release also a Hybrid Plug-in version with an estimated 80 miles per gallon. The front fascia pretty much resembles the front of a Chrysler 200, sleek and sporty.
Interior and Exterior of the 2017 Pacifica
Compared to its older brother, the Town & Contry, the Pacifica grew a little bit larger. The wheel-base of the Pacifica is .4 inches longer (121.6 inches). Even so the length was minimized by .1″ to 203.6″, the width grew to 79.6″ vs. 78.7 in the T&C. Height grew .6″ to 69.9 inches, curb weight was reduced by sensational 322 lbs and interesting now is that you can sit up to 8 passenger into the minivan.
In higher equipped models you will notice contrast stitching on seats and dashboard. Chrome bezels to emphasize more luxury.
